Princess’s Driving School – Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: 17 October 2025
1. Our Commitment
Princess’s Driving School is committed to providing high-quality driving instruction and exceptional customer service. We understand that circumstances can change, and this policy outlines our procedures for refunds, cancellations, and rescheduling of driving lessons and test packages. This policy is designed to be fair to our clients while protecting the professional time of our accredited driving instructors. This policy is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and is in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
2. Student Obligations
To ensure a safe and productive learning environment, all students must:
Hold and carry a current, valid NSW Learner Licence, Australian Driver’s Licence, or an appropriate and valid international driving licence during every lesson.
Be fit to drive. Students must not be under the influence of alcohol or any drugs (prescribed or illicit) that may impair their ability to drive safely.
Wear suitable enclosed footwear for all in-car sessions.
Disclose any medical conditions or prescription medications that may affect driving ability to the instructor before the lesson commences.
Our instructors reserve the right to terminate a lesson immediately, without a refund, if a student is deemed unfit or unsafe to drive.
3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
We require adequate notice for any changes to scheduled appointments to allow us to offer the time slot to another client.
3.1. Single Driving Lessons
More than 24 hours’ notice: You may cancel or reschedule your lesson without penalty. Any pre-payment will be credited towards a future booking or can be refunded upon request.
Less than 24 hours’ notice: A cancellation fee equivalent to 100% of the scheduled lesson fee will be charged. The lesson will be forfeited.
Failure to Attend (No-Show): If you fail to attend a scheduled lesson without any prior notice, the full lesson fee will be forfeited.
3.2. Driving Test Appointments
Due to the significant time allocated for Transport for NSW test appointments, a longer notice period is required:
More than 72 hours’ (3 business days) notice: You may cancel or reschedule your test appointment without penalty.
Less than 72 hours’ notice: A cancellation fee equivalent to 100% of the booking fee will be charged. This covers the loss of the instructor’s time, which cannot be re-booked at short notice.
Note: Transport for NSW may charge their own separate fees for test cancellations or rescheduling. The fee paid to Princess’s Driving School is for the instructor’s time and vehicle use and is independent of any TfNSW fees.
4. Driving Lesson Packages
Our discounted lesson packages offer great value. The following terms apply to these packages:
Validity: All pre-paid lesson packages are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Any unused lessons after the expiry date will be forfeited.
Non-Transferable: Packages are not transferable to other individuals.
Refunds for Unused Packages: Refunds are not provided for a “change of mind”. Please consider our single-lesson options if you are unsure about committing to a package.
Refunds for Partially Used Packages: Should you wish to discontinue a package after commencing lessons, a refund may be considered under exceptional circumstances at the discretion of management.
If a refund is approved:
The lessons already completed will be charged at the full, non-discounted single lesson rate.
An administration fee of $45.00 AUD will be deducted from the remaining balance.
The remaining amount will be refunded to you.
5. Cancellations by Princess’s Driving School In the rare event that we need to cancel or reschedule a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., instructor illness, vehicle mechanical issue), we will:
Provide you with as much notice as reasonably possible.
Reschedule your lesson to the next mutually convenient time at no additional cost to you.
6. Driving Test Day The student is solely responsible for ensuring all Transport for NSW requirements are met for their driving test. This includes, but is not limited to:
Providing all necessary identification documents.
Ensuring your Learner Driver Log Book is complete and signed off correctly.
Having a valid Hazard Perception Test (HPT) result.
If your driving test is cancelled or cannot proceed due to your failure to meet Transport for NSW requirements, the full fee for the test appointment with Princess’s Driving School will be forfeited.
7. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund
All cancellations and rescheduling requests must be made by directly contacting us via phone call or SMS at +61 0469227184.
To request a refund, please send an email to support@princesss.com.au to request our official Refund Request Form. This form must be completed in full for your request to be processed.
Approved refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days and returned via the original payment method where possible.
